Bearing The Fruit of Love

Bro. Louis baptizing a new Christian!

     Pastor's Paragraphs . . .

This is an urgent bulletin to warn of a deadly disease that you and your loved ones have come in contact with and could even be infected with prior to reading these words.  It’s called Morbus Sabbaticus, or Sunday Disease and it is peculiarly painful to church members. The symptoms vary but we are sure of the following: 1) It never interferes with the appetite. 2) It never lasts more than 24 hours. 3) No physician is ever called. 4) If not treated properly, it is always fatal in the end . . . to the soul!
The attack usually comes on suddenly every Sunday morning. No symptoms are felt on Saturday night; the patient often sleeps well and wakes feeling well and sometimes even eats a hearty breakfast. But about the time Bible Study and Worship start at the Church an attack begins and the patient must stay home. This attack continues until after the services are over for the morning. The patient then relaxes and feels easy once again. They usually eat a hearty dinner and feel better throughout the afternoon. They may play, shop, read the paper and enjoy any number of other activities up until the time for more church activities. Then another attack begins and they feel too ill to attend once again. Amazingly, this attack also ends about the time that the Church services do and the patient usually enjoys the evening, sleeps well and wakes up with no lingering effects to keep them home from work. They often feel great throughout the entire week . . . until the next Sunday morning!!! If not corrected, this will cripple the Church and destroy the individual’s soul.
There is a cure, though. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. (Gal 6:7)
Yes, the preceding is fictitious . . . to a point. Hopefully it will still make a point!  I hope the moments you spend with us through this web site will prove to be thought provoking . . . and help to avoid the disease of being morbid . . . which can also lead to morbus sabbaticus!!  We intend that some moments will be challenging, others encouraging and still others, we hope, humorous. Most of all I pray that you will grow closer to our Lord.  If this happens, please be careful to give Him the praise!!

                   Love, In Christ Jesus,
                                   Bro. Louis
